Some summer plantings of tender perennials seem to be completely immune to slug and snail problems  - last year the Callibrachoa planted in a wall basket was demolished, this year's planting of Scaevola aemula is totally undamaged. This year the Petchoa (a new Petunia/Callibrachoa hybrid) planted in a trough have been stripped to bare stems - while the fuchsia behind them is untouched.
