Robinia x slavinii 'Hillieri'

This robinia makes a small, rounded garden tree with delicate  pinnate foliage and soft pale pinkish flowers which have a slight scent. It would be a perfect garden tree if it weren't so brittle  -   branches are easily broken in strong winds and rain, particularly when the tree is in flower in late spring. Textbooks recommend pruning it after flowering but that isn't very practical for a tree.
