Look out for willowherbs

Other weeds survive in your borders by hiding in plain sight; their foliage resembles plants you want to look after, and so they get well established and harder to remove. Willowherbs are good at this - easy to mistake for other perennials while they form dense mats of root. This one is growing through a penstemon which has similar foliage, but is far less advanced at this time of year.
