Cut out reversion

You will need to cut out green shoots that appear in variegated plants - these will gradually take over as they grow more strongly than the colourful shoots. Elaeagnus and Euonymus are notorious for reversion, but variegated forms of holly are also quite unstable, throwing up green shoots as well as colourless ones.
