Spiraea japonica 'Goldflame'

Spiraea japonica 'Goldflame'

The young foliage of this Spiraea is its chief beauty - flaming red/orange leaves which fade slowly to yellow and then greenish-yellow. Later on the flowers appear, but the dull pink is an intrusive contrast and if you've selected the plant for its leaf colour then the flowers spoil your colour scheme  - cutting hard back at this stage will result in a fresh flush of colourful foliage within just a few weeks.
