One way to deal with 'too fresh' manure is to layer it into a compost heap with annual weeds and shredded woody stems. There is a lot of winter plant debris to be cleared away just now along with spring weeds, giving you a good mix of high-nitrogen manure, soft green weeds and tougher stems and shreddings in sufficient quantity to produce a 'hot' compost heap and promote rapid composting.
