Muscari armeniacum

The flowers of grape hyacinths are actually very pretty, with a tiny white rim to each blue bell - it's a pity the leaves are so much more vigorous and so messy. Muscari flower best in poor soil, so consign them to difficult spots where other bulbs won't grow.
