Watch out for damping off disease

Fungal 'damping off' disease can wipe out a tray of seedlings rapidly; it's particularly common when sowing very fine seeds like Nicotiana and Antirrhinum. There isn't any treatment - wash your seed tray with disinfectant and use fresh, sterile seed compost for the next batch.
