Choose tomato cultivars

Decide now what types of tomato you are growing this year; there are cherry, hanging basket, beefsteak and salad; pink, red, orange, black, striped – even heirloom varieties like ‘Banana Legs’. Bush cultivars or 'determinate' are best for hanging baskets, and will produce a heasvy crop of fruits and then stop; 'indeterminate' or vine tomatoes will carry on fruiting until the cold weather kills the tender plant.
