Crocosmia corms go deep

It will take more than a hand fork to lift an established clump of Crocosmia 'Lucifer' to weed out  ground elder rhizomes  - over a period of years each new corm grows on top of the previous year's,  so that eventually the stack can go down 23-30cm, and as the corms grow into ech other the stacks become solid. Make sure you use a fork with an unbreakable handle for leverage!
