Pulmonaria officinalis

Common lungwort is one of the names for this useful early-flowering perennial - the 'Doctrine of Signatures' mean that the mottling of the leaves might resemble a diseased lung so the plant must be good for lung diseases. The flowers, which open pink and then turn blue, give it another common name - 'Soldiers and Sailors'.
