Force rhubarb crowns

If you love rhubarb and are looking enviously at the (expensive) slim pink rhubarb stalks in the supermarket, you can stimulate your rhubarb crowns into earlier/sweeter growth by covering them now - an old bucket will do the job, anything that excludes light and blanches the stems, or you could buy a 'Victorian' terracotta forcing pot if you feel grand!
