Cornus mas

This dogwood  is grown for its flowers and fruit, not its stem colour. Clusters of tiny bright yellow flowers cover the bare branches of the Cornelian cherry in February; later there will be large rather dull green leaves, and in early autumn glossy red fruits which the birds devour.
