Hamamelis x intermedia 'Diane'

This is one of the earliest witch hazels to bloom, with spidery rich red flowers - if you grow 'Diane' in a container, position it against a pale background so that the flowers will be clearly visible. In mild winters it may hold onto its leaves, so be sure to remove them otherwise you won't see the flowers once they start to emerge.
