dull leaves aren't always diseased

When evergreens like citrus, camellia and bay are kept under glass and watered from above - particularly by automatic sprinkler systems - the leaves can acquire unsightly marks from the calcium in hard water. On evergreens this won't cause significant harm, though a build-up of dust on top of this can make the leaves look unhealthy.
