Passiflora racemosa

Passiflora racemosa

The red passion flower is a tender evergreen climber  which needs a minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius,  so it needs glasshouse protection in the UK, or to be grown in a conservatory. It can reach 5m in the right growing conditions with racemes of crimson flowers in summer which turn to dark  pink as they age; like other passion flowers it has  striking purple and white coronal filaments.
