Nerine bowdenii

This perennial bulb produces clusters of elegant lily-like pink flowers on its tall leafless stems in the late autumn. It needs a warm spot to flourish, and do well in gravel ; the flowers last for weeks in cooler autumn temperatures. The strap-shaped leaves are often produced earlier in the summer.
