Fatsia japonica

Fatsia japonica

Fatsia is an 'architectural' plant, looking exotic but actually very hardy; it makes a striking feature grown on its own in a container but the large, glossy evergreen leaves are also a good contrast to finer textured plants like ferns in a shady border. The flowers and berries are very like ivy, to which it is closely related.
