Phygelius x rectus 'African Queen'

Cape Figworts are originally from South Africa - suckering evergreen shrubs or subshrubs with one-sided sprays of vivid oranges and red tubular flowers, with intricate markings inside their throats. Phygelius may die back in cold winters but this is a very vigorous cultivar - after a mild winter, and without pruning, it can reach 2m.
