Recognise Brown Rot
Recognise Brown Rot
1st November 2020
Brown rot is a fungal infection which enters through wounds on fruit and then produces a characteristic brown shrivelling, with rings of white fungal growth. Fruits mummify and may remain hanging on the tree to release spores that cause blossom wilt in spring. Destroy ( by burying, or in a council green waste bin) the affected fruits and remove all mummified fruits in winter to avoid re-infection next year.
