Fuchsia magellanica 'Riccartonii'
The classic, reliably hardy cultivar, used in coastal regions as a flowering hedge. Why is this species quite hardy, when other fuchsias can't take hint of frost? F. magellanica is from Tierra del Fuego, the cold archipelago across the Straits of Magellan from the tip of S. America.
