Heptacodium miconioides

One more quality makes Heptacodium a useful and unusual tree/multistemmed shrub for the garden - the tan-coloured bark hugs the trunk in long wavering strips which peel away from the paler trunk and branches, making it a striking feature in the garden in winter.
