Use Enviromesh early to protect cabbages

Enviromesh can only ward off cabbage white butterflies if you cover your ccabbages promptly and make sure there are no access points. Normal netting will let the butterflies through to lay their eggs, but the ultrafine mesh of Enviromesh (or possibly some old net curtains if you are looking to recycle and save money?) ought to protect the young plants. However in this case these are still shredded cabbages, so the eggs must already have been on the plants!
