Viburnum opulus

The Guelder rose or crampbark is a deciduous native shrub which thrives on chalk.  The clusters of small white flowers are surrounded by larger sterile flowers.  The maple-like leaves turn  a good shade of shade of red in autumn , and the translucent red berries are very attractive to birds.
