Recognise viburnum beetle larvae

The small speckled caterpillar on the back of this V. tinus leaf is the culprit for most Viburnum leaf damage. If you don't like spraying, in winter you can greatly reduce the damage for the following year by cutting out twigs where the overwintering eggs have been laid.
