Dracunculus vulgaris

The Voodoo Lily, Dragon or Snake Lily is surprisingly hardy for such a dramatic aroid - its mottled, snakeskin stems rise to a metre, topped with soft green foliage marbled with white. The purple-black inflorescences are huge, and smell of rotting meat when they are ready for pollination.
