Recognise Cuckoo Spit on plants.

The blob of froth you find sometimes on roses and other plants has nothing to do with cuckoos and isn't really spittle, as the young froghopper actually excretes the froth which shields it from predators. Frog hoppers or spittle bugs are sap sucking insects, but do very little damage to plants.
