recognise clematis wilt

Large flowered clematis cultivars, the 'Group 2' ones which flower in May then produce a second flowering in September, are prone to this recurrent fungal disease which causes leaves and flowers to wilt, turn brown and die back. New shoots will emerge if the clematishas been planted deeply to encourage more buds to break.
