Calycanthus 'Aphrodite'

Carolina All Spice is the common name for the species Calycanthus floridus - the slow growing deciduous shrub has large aromatic mid-green leaves and very showy fragrant flowers, (dark red with a white margin in this cultivar) ; it is hardy but prefers shelter from cold drying winds.
