In the right place, weeds are beautiful wildflowers. Cow parsley (Anthriscus sylvestris) may be a nuisance if it seeds in the garden (even the designers' favourite, the purple-leaved form) but on verges and here in this 'green lane' the froth of white flowers is spectacular at this time of year. It's also a valuable source of nectar for insects.
