Loropetalum chinense 'Fire Dance'

This relative of witch hazel is one of the few purple-leaved shrubs which holds it leaves through winter. The bright pink of the new foliage buds is quite striking as they unfurl, but after a good summer has ripened the wood,  the spidery pink flowers are even more spectacular.
