Distentangle ground elder

Ground elder spreads through your border by means of long rhizomes or underground stems - it is hardest to remove when it gets entangled with border plants which have the same growth habit. Liriope and Ophiopogon, two grass-like perennials, both spread themselves in this way and picking out the ground elder from between their roots takes a lot of care, and good eyesight!
