Euphorbia amygdaloides purpurea

This compact spurge is useful for its purple, strappy foliage, which it retains all year round; it can survive in poor, dry soil and is especially valuable because it does well in partial shade. In spring the acid-yellow flowers make a very strong contrast with the foliage.
