Recognise bitter pit

I'd bought this promising apple about three weeks ago and was hoping it would demonstrate bitter pit for the Level 2 Blended Learning assessment at the end of April, but (a) it's starting to rot and (b) we've had to postpone the assessment. So here is a splendid example of bitter pit in a Bramley, showing the pitting in the skin and the underlying damage to cells from calcium deficiency. It generally develops in large fruit like Bramley, and shows up after storing.
