Sophora microphylla
The plant of the day comes from Wilf Simcox's garden; although he teaches at North Moreton Wilf actually lives near Winchester and definitely has a sheltered microclimate in his garden where this evergreen New Zealand shrub thrives. The leaves are pinnate, and in spring a well grown-specimen is covered in clusters of yellow bell-like flowers.
