Ipheon uniflorum 'White Star'

There is a white form of the starflower which can be very effective grown en masse under shrubs, or here in the rose garden at Ryton under hardy fuchsias.  The white petals have a slight silvery stripe down the middle when seen close up.It is a surprisingly easy bulb to grow, though not very common; it is summer dormant, so the foliage will die away just like a snowdrop, and you do need to remember where you have planted them.
