Plug plants can be a really useful way to buy tender perennials and summer bedding if you don't want to sow them yourself - and don't want too many! The complete range is starting to come into garden centres now, so keep an eye on what they stock and buy them as soon as you see good healthy plugs - they soon start to get spindly in the warmth and relatively low light levels of the garden centre. There are many new cultivars of traditional plants like this Bidens which may be worth a try.
