Crocus tommasinianus

The name 'early crocus' is probably easier to recall than the botanical name Crocus tommasinianus;  pale mauve or lilac flowers appear any time from late January, spreading themselves across grass or gravel but only really showing up clearly when the flowers are fully open in sunshine.
