Pulmonaria 'Blue Ensign'

This final lungwort is another cultivar; 'Blue Ensign' has slightly hairy dark green leaves, narrower than most of the spotted cultivars and more pointed at the tip. There is no variegation - these leaves would only show white patches when they succumb to powdery mildew (like most pulmonarias in dry conditions). It has the clearest and deepest blue flowers of the Pulmonarias, opening from mauve -blue buds to sapphire blue flowers without any pink tones.
