Iris foetidissima

With an iris which reproduces so freely from seed, there is bound to be variation and the botanists recognise a separate variety, Iris foetidissima 'Citrina' which may occur alongside clumps of the regular form. It is still subtle, with petals varying from palest lemon to beige.
