RHS Level 2: Theory Course

RHS L2 Plant Growth Cert

Course content:

  • Plant classification, structure and function
  • Understanding plant propagation
  • Plant nutrition and the root environment
  • Maintaining plant health

Duration: The course runs from September 2014 at Ryton on Saturdays for 28 weeks, from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm.

How each course is taught and assessed:

You will study 4 units.

The course is classroom based; teaching consists of lectures and practical demonstrations, with outdoor discussions in the gardens where this will help understanding of any topics.Each unit is assessed by a short written examination set by the RHS in February and June each year.

There is no compulsory course work, but you will be given the opportunity to try sample examination questions if you are going take the examination.

Achievement: When you have passed exams in all the units, the RHS will award a L2 Certificate in Plant Growth, Propagation and Development.

Note: If you have opted not to undertake the examinations for either course but work through all the exercises and practice questions we will issue a certificate of attendance.

RHS Practical courses:Level 2 North Moreton (Thursdays); Level 2  Ryton  NEW COURSE Friday am; Saturday pm places starting in Jan ’15. For Level 3  Practical we have some places at both centres for a January start.
