Course content:

• Plant taxonomy, structure and function
• The root environment, plant nutrition and growing systems
• The management of plant health
• Understanding applied plant propagation

Duration: Each course runs for 28 weeks, from 09.00 am to 12.30 pm.

How each course is taught and assessed:

You will study 4 units.

The course is classroom based; teaching consists of lectures, practical demonstrations and plant identification sessions. Each unit is assessed by a short written examination set by the RHS in February and June each year.

There is no compulsory course work, but you will be given the opportunity to try sample examination questions if you are going take the examination.

Achievement: Achievement: When you have passed exams in all the units, the RHS will award a L3 Certificate in Plant Growth, Health and Applied Propagation.

Note: If you have opted not to undertake the examinations for either course but work through all the exercises and practice questions we will issue a certificate of attendance.
